Dispatched from Amazon.co.uk

We've always said that Amazon.com is awesome; now we can say that Amazon.co.uk is awesome (or brilliant?) as well.

We decided that we wanted to read the Harry Potter books, and they don't seem to be available in any electronic form. That sent us searching for physical copies of the books. At the same time, we wondered about the difference between the UK and US versions. The difference turns out to be about a hundred words per book. Maybe not a big deal, but if J.K. Rowling wrote "packet of crisps," then we want to read "packet of crisps" and not "bag of chips." Further, we discovered the existence of the "adult" edition covers shown here. After some surfing, we landed at Amazon.co.uk, which we should have thought of in the first place. As it turns out, the UK version, shipped from the UK, after currency conversion and credit card fees, costs less than the US version with free shipping from the US. Our books were quickly "dispatched," and arrived in five days.

Now that we've grown accustomed to e-readers, our first action upon opening the set was to look at Order of the Phoenix at a whopping 2 1/2 inches thick and wonder, how are we going to read that thing?
