The verdict: good enough, but not great. Really just a typical summer action film, which is a shame because the Terminator franchise has so much potential (seen in the TV show, for example). However, this film adds nothing to the Terminator world that we didn't already know. It's human versus terminator in chase and fight scenes similar to the previous films except that it's set in 2018 and has different actors. Speaking of actors, we think Sam Worthington (Marcus, pictured) makes this film. Christian Bale, not so much. Word has it that the original script focused on Marcus and had very little John Connor -- that would have been much better. And the ending is just terrible. If you can figure out when five minutes before the end is going to be, leave. We wish we could tell you when that is without providing spoilers. Overall, enjoyable, yet disappointing at the same time.
