Our local ponds have many ducks and geese, but not many swans. In fact, this particular swan that we saw yesterday, called a Mute Swan, doesn't live here natively at all. The few that we have were purchased and brought here by people wanting to make their ponds look fancier. In other news, mute swans aren't mute. Basically, this is a picture of a Mute Swan in Utah that is neither mute nor from Utah.
Salt Lake City does have a small population of Trumpeter Swans, and we are in the migratory path of the Tundra Swans that travel from California to Alaska and Northern Canada. They come through in the beginning of March. Mute Swans are easily distinguished from the other swans by their orange bills.

I seem to remember a swan you named "hissy lady" because she hissed at you when you got a little bit too close to her at the pond. We still have baby swans every spring/summer.
