Big and Small

Most of our orchid pictures are close-ups, so you may not get a good sense of the flower sizes. For some perspective, here are two orchids and a tape measure. Be sure to find the tiny one with the purple lip in the lower right. The larger orchid, Angel Bells, was bred in 1960 to meet the demand for orchid corsages. The smaller orchid, Pole Star, was an attempted breeding for color and small size. The small size worked out, but the color didn't come out as expected -- its parents are red and yellow.

Hi, that's a beauty, the white Catt. Did you just buy it? Or has it re-flowered for you. I think your new windows are great for windowsill plants.
