Boy did we hate our old windows. They were so inefficient it was practically like having no windows at all. Water condensed on the insides. They were basically falling apart. We finally took the plunge and had them all replaced. They look great, and while it was 40 degrees almost all of last week, the heat in the house came on almost never. Hooray!
Our favorite feature turned out to be an unexpected one: the "wraps" on the exterior covering all of our falling-apart trim. (Example of falling-apart trim below. Compare lovely trim above.) The wraps took the window guy literally three times longer than installing the windows themselves. Seriously, anyone who gets new windows without also getting the wraps is insane.
