Our yard is almost entirely perennials, so we've never been big fans of tulips that get weaker every year until you finally have to dig them up and replace them. If you agree, look for species tulips rather than hybridized tulips. They are smaller and usually not as showy, but they will come back every year in greater numbers. Species tulips are not as popular (which is a plus in our book) and are not as widely sold, but we found ours at Costco.
