Our dogs are relatively quiet. When other dogs in the neighborhood are howling, ours don't join in. They don't seem to care about birds at all. But there's one thing that definitely sets them off: squirrels. As shown below, the electric cabling in our yard also serves as a squirrel superhighway. The dogs go nutso when there are squirrels about. The squirrels, for their part, seem to enjoy barking back at the dogs and tormenting them.
