Big thumbs down to everyone involved in planning today's Salt Lake City marathon. Without warning, the police blocked off every intersection around our neighborhood except a couple this morning. That would be bad enough, but on top of that, none of the police officers were able to tell us where the unblocked intersections were. And, when you go to the marathon's web site and click on "road closures," you get this map to the left, which shows the marathon routes, but not any openings or closures. There were no detour signs of any kind. Basically, traffic was chaos on every street in the enclosed area. It's helpful to know we could get water at the little red crosses though.
