What We Watch(ed): Monday Edition

Good sci-fi is hard to come by on network television. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles is good sci fi. The show falls chronologically after Terminator 2, although if you're a fan of the films, you know that "chronologically" doesn't mean a heck of a lot in the Terminator world. Suffice it to say that the computer system "Skynet" is still scheduled to be built, become sentient, and launch an attack against humans, with Sarah and John Connor trying to stop all these events. Helping them is a good(?) terminator, excellently played by Summer Glau (Firefly, Serenity), whose attempts to act human are very funny. Brian Austin Green (90210) is also an interesting cast as John's uncle. Unfortunately, the writer's strike resulted in a first season of just nine episodes, and Fox has the show on the bubble, neither canceled nor renewed. Tonight was the finale, but you can watch all the episodes full-screen in surprisingly good quality at the Fox website. (It took about 10 seconds for the video quality to snap in on our system, so be patient).
