Dendrobium kingianum is native to Australia where it is known as Pink Rock Lily. The photo below is a shot we took of our "Sandbar Stripe" variety, blooming this week in the greenhouse. While "Dendrobium" comes from the Greek words tree and life, referring to the fact that most dendrobiums grow on trees, this particular one grows on rock faces. You'll definitely want to click on this one for a larger view to see the sparkle on the petals.
