After a series of not-so-Comcastic experiences with Comcast, Mona Shaw brought down the hammer. Literally.
At the Comcast office in Manassas... they waited for a manager for two hours before being told the manager had left for the day, the Shaws say. Shaw, a churchgoing secretary of the local AARP branch, returned the next Monday — with a hammer.
"I smashed a keyboard, knocked over a monitor ... and I went to hit the telephone," Shaw said. "I figured, 'Hey, my telephone is screwed up, so is yours."
We feel her pain. We've had Comcast miss appointments, tell us we didn't actually have appointments, and show up when we didn't have appointments. We endure random hours of sluggish or non-existent Internet connections, a DVR that decides to record a program in 17 pieces, or not allow you to do anything else while something is being recorded, or not record at all, and a cable box that takes between 1 and 30 seconds to respond to the remote. On the other hand, we love the Slowskys:
