Red fountain grass is the only annual that we make a point of buying every year. (Funny, considering this is the third post in a row featuring an annual). In the spring, you can buy the scruffiest-looking plant in a four-inch pot, and toward the end of August you get this. Your mileage may vary. In fact, it's hardy to about 30, so some of you may be able to cut it down in winter and have it grow back.
