IKEA madness

So, we figured, sure it's the first weekend that Ikea's been open, but how many people could possibly be there on a Sunday morning when everyone is supposed to be at church? Apparently, the entire population of Salt Lake Valley. There were about a dozen police officers directing traffic, and perhaps 30 Ikea employees managing parking. Below is a shot of our "parking space" in a dirt field about a quarter mile away from the store. In the store itself, once you made your way through the crowd listening to the live band and the line of people waiting to get into the restaurant, endless throngs marched slowly along the designated pathways through the showroom floor. The more popular chairs and sofas even had small lines of people waiting to try them out! We felt sorry for the people who were actually trying to buy things.
