Karrie asks about the picture I took at Cornell University during our New York trip:
Looks like a mill or something used to be cut into the rock--what was all of that?
This picture was taken from a bridge over a gorge that cuts through the Cornell campus. The building was a hydraulic laboratory built in 1898 to study the behavior of water. They built the dam at the same time, creating Beebe Lake behind it. The building is slowly crumbling into the water and will collapse completely one of these days.
